Ethical Society of Police endorses internal candidate for Chief of Police

ST. LOUIS, MO – From the beginning of the search for the next Chief of Police for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD), Mayor Lyda Krewson stated that the next Chief should be someone connected to the community, that he/she should have a stellar reputation, a proven track record for fairness and inclusion, and simply possess the qualities of being a good cop.

Based on these criteria, the Board of the Ethical Society of Police, believes that SLMPD Major John Hayden best represents what the mayor has expressed and therefore is the best choice for Chief of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

Any questions regarding this decision should be directed to our General Counsel, Attorney Anthony D. Gray at 314-385-9500.

Respectfully,

The Board of the Ethical Society of Police
