ESOP to host community Block Party on Saturday, May 18

Join the Ethical Society of Police for the Back 2 Basics Block Party on Saturday, May 18th from 11am to 2pm at West Belle and North Sarah Avenue.

The free event will feature music, a DJ, treats, fun and food, games, fellowship and community resources and vendors. Resource vendors include The Urban League, People’s Health Centers, People’s Community Action Corporation and Will’s Way.

Radio Host Princess Stormm from 104.1 (Audacy) will do a live broadcast from 11am to 1pm. Magician The Amazing Gary Walker will be performing and the Arch Towne Gaming Truck will be on-site along with bounce houses, games, crafting and face painting.

The Ethical Society of Police Pre-Academy Program students, who graduate on May 25, will collect data from the attendees and talk about the recruitment program at the ESOP booth. As part of the community service portion of the program, they will engage the community by running the games, monitoring the bounce houses, assisting at the stage and resource table and also grilling hot dogs and hamburgers. They will set up and break down the event and make sure there is no litter left behind.
