On behalf of the members of the Ethical Society of Police, we are proud to formally endorse Melissa Price Smith for continuation as Prosecuting Attorney of St. Louis County.
The Ethical Society of Police is an organization committed to advocating for marginalized communities, protecting the rights of the underserved, and standing firmly against all forms of discrimination. Our mission has always centered on ensuring that Black and Brown communities receive equal protection, fair treatment, and meaningful access to justice. It is through this lens that we offer our endorsement.
Since 2024, when we first endorsed Melissa Price Smith to succeed Wesley Bell, she has demonstrated steady and principled leadership. Her administration has worked to build collaborative partnerships with community stakeholders, faith-based leaders, advocacy groups, and law enforcement professionals across the county. We have witnessed firsthand her consistent presence at community events throughout North County—an area predominantly home to Black and Brown residents—where she has engaged residents directly, listened to concerns, and affirmed that every community, regardless of zip code or income level, deserves to be heard and respected.
North County communities have too often felt overlooked and disproportionately impacted by economic disinvestment and public safety challenges. Rather than distancing herself from these realities, Melissa Price Smith has leaned in with transparency, accessibility, and a clear commitment
