Det. Sgt. Heather Taylor listens to the radio call during a gathering of police and community well-wishers at the Worlds’ Fair Pavilion in Forest Park to honor her on Friday as she retires after 20 years on the job. Taylor, who is also the president of the Ethical Society of Police, was honored for her leadership and bringing other African American women through the ranks of the department.
