KMOX: Fundraiser for Injured Officer Happening this Weekend

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Coming up this weekend: a fundraiser to help a St. Louis Police officer shot by one of his fellow officers.

Milton Green was shot while trying to help during a June 2017 vehicle pursuit – a late arriving officer didn’t recognize Green and shot him, ending his career. Sergeant Heather Taylor, head of the city’s African American police union, the Ethical Society of Police, says the money will benefit mainly his kids.

“The kids are involved in after school activities to keep them busy, and to make sure that they can survive our city. It’s important to keep them busy and entertained, and that’s what it’s for,” she says.

The fundraiser happens this Sunday from 1 to 6 p-m at Montrey’s Cigar Lounge on South Florissant in Ferguson.
