This report about the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) was prepared by the Ethical Society of Police (ESOP). The report outlines systemic racism, concerns with hiring, unfair discipline, corruption, interference with SLMPD, and other troubling incidents. It also highlights an in-custody death from 2012 and addresses why SLMPD needs to follow the law under RSMO 844.344, which placed SLMPD under "local control" in 2013.
This document was signed by the St. Louis County Executive at 12:26 pm on 6/22/20, after our press release.
